From Murcia airport (RMU)
40 minutes by car. Fewer flights than Alicante, but a very easy drive and often cheaper fares from the UK and Ireland.

Drive straight in through the gate and park inside. A remote opener comes with the keys. Street parking nearby is free if you have a second car.
The neighbourhood
Calle Fragata is in Urbanización Horizonte, the villa streets just behind Playa de Punta Prima. Walk towards the sea and Avenida del Mar drops you on the beach in four minutes, next to the beachfront restaurant. Walk the other way and Avenida de California has a Carrefour Express, a pharmacy a few blocks on, and Lidl nine minutes away.
Follow the coast north and you pass Cala Piteras and the Nautilus restaurant on the rocks, then the long promenade into Torrevieja. Frequently asked questions
Is Casa Fragata in Torrevieja or Orihuela Costa?
Both, in practice. Punta Prima straddles the municipal line: the villa is on the Orihuela side (postcode 03189), a few streets from Torrevieja. Torrevieja marina is 12 minutes by car, La Zenia Boulevard 5.
Which airport is best?
Alicante-Elche (ALC) and Murcia (RMU, Corvera) are both 40 to 45 minutes by car. Alicante has far more flights; Murcia is quieter and sometimes cheaper. Our airport guide covers taxis, buses and car hire.
Do I need a car?
Not for the beach, supermarkets, pharmacy and restaurants, which are all on foot. A car is useful for La Zenia Boulevard, Torrevieja town, the pink lake, golf and day trips. The gated parking makes it painless.
Is the area quiet?
Yes. Urbanización Horizonte is a low-rise residential area of villas and gardens. Quiet at night, and Punta Prima beach is calmer than the Torrevieja town beaches.
