A family villa near Torrevieja with a private, walled pool

Families ask three questions: is the pool private, is the garden enclosed, and how far is the beach really. Yes, yes, and 280 metres.

In short

  • Garden walled and fenced on every side; the gate closes behind the car.
  • Playa de Punta Prima is shallow, sandy and calmer than the town beaches, with lifeguards in summer and a restaurant on the sand.
  • Three bedrooms and three bathrooms, outdoor dining for eight, cabana for naps in the shade.
  • Aquopolis water park, the submarine museum and the pink lake are all 10 to 15 minutes away.

The pool and garden

The plot is enclosed by high walls and fencing, so once the gate is shut children cannot wander out and nobody wanders in. The pool is unfenced inside the garden, which is normal in Spain; it has a shallow entry end, a pool-side shower, and a separate pool bathroom so nobody drips through the house. The cabana is shaded all afternoon: the place for the post-lunch nap and the bedtime story. There is no lifeguard, so an adult is always watching.

A beach that works with small children

Playa de Punta Prima is a sandy beach between two rocky points, which keeps the water calmer than the open beaches of Torrevieja. The walk is four flat minutes on pavement, pram and scooter friendly. The restaurant on the beach does breakfast and ice cream, and there are showers and lifeguards in season. See our Punta Prima guide and Torrevieja with kids.

Days out within 15 minutes

  • Aquopolis Torrevieja, the big water park, 10 minutes.
  • The S-61 Delfín submarine in Torrevieja harbour: a real submarine you walk through.
  • The pink lake and the salt-works tourist train.
  • Playgrounds and the promenade at Playa Flamenca; mini-golf, bowling and cinema at La Zenia Boulevard.
  • Boat trips from Torrevieja port, including the pirate boat and Tabarca island.

Common questions

Is Torrevieja good for a family holiday?
Yes, if you stay near a beach you can walk to. Shallow sandy beaches, a water park, the submarine museum, boat trips, markets and reliable sun make it easy; the inland villa estates make it a driving holiday.
Is the pool safe for toddlers?
The garden is fully enclosed, but the pool itself has no fence or cover, as is standard in Spain. Toddlers need an adult within arm’s reach at all times. Ask us about a pool alarm if that would help.
Is there a water park?
Aquopolis Torrevieja is 10 minutes away by car and opens from June to September. Flamingo Aquapark is a smaller alternative.
Do you provide a cot and high chair?
Usually yes, by arrangement. Add it to the message when you book and the host confirms.
